This summer has been a busy one! We started off with VBS. We went to Houston to visit my family for a week. We have been swimming and Monster is taking swimming lessons! We spent a week without hubby because he went to camp with his 5th grade boys. I have been trying to find ways to keep Monster busy too this summer so he is not bored! I have not crafted a whole lot but I did get one craft in that I wanted to share. Since we are about to begin our first year of homeschooling, I wanted a place that was designed just for all of Monster's art work he will be creating! So this is what I came up with.
I started with this large brown frame I had ( I actually have two but waiting on the other one)

Painted it red... this took SEVERAL COATS OF PAINT!! This was maybe two coats in.Plus I still had to do the insides!

I also used a small black frame I had.

This is what I did! So far this is all that we have hanging. I promise the "white" canvas has something on it! We did bubble painted but it just wasn't as bright as I hoped.

I used string to put behind the frame and just hang the art with clothespins.

This one is still empty. I am waiting on Monster to make something for here!

So this wall I am hoping at the end of our first year will be full! I have tons of art projects planned for our first year of homeschooling! I think above it I am going to use vinyl and post " Monsters Masterpieces" :)

Life has been busy for us the last few weeks. I have been working on Monsters new room ( see post HERE ). We went on a field trip to the Dallas Zoo with Monsters Kindergarten class last Thursday. Today we have a field trip to our local water park at 1:00. I went down to Houston a couple of weekends ago to visit my family. Yesterday, we spent the day at my Sister in Laws house enjoying the weather and a nice mud fight! Plus all the in between like cleaning the house, doing dishes, laundry and helping my MIL with a sick dog! Very busy!
The countdown has begun too for the last day of school. As of today 9 days left! Really it's 10 days because they have to go for half a day on Monday June 10th however that is the first day of VBS and we are going to VBS. So his last day is Friday June 7th! We got his graduation pictures and they are so stinking cute! I wish I could scan it but don't have a scanner. I will take tons at his Kindergarten graduation though!
I have a review coming up soon!!! So stay tuned for that too! Also if you are into homeschooling like we will be you can check out and follow my new homeschooling blog!
On this blog I will share our homeschooling days, reviews and giveaways, deals I find and just about anything and everything I can about homeschooling. Right now I just post here and there and am hoping to get some more followers so I can do some more reviews and giveaways on that blog for homeschooling products!
I will leave you with some pictures from our very busy life this May...

Superhero Room Teasers!

We have finally been able to start working on Monster's new superhero room! I am very excited! We finally painted the ugly tan walls a really soft gray. I painted the base boards from tan to white. I have added a few decorations here and there but not much yet. It is coming together but no where near done! Here is what we have so far!
This is the BEFORE,,, We also took that bed out and we put in a queen bed. He has been in the bed for two nights and has stayed right in the middle! He does much better in the bigger bed!
Baseboards... this was my least favorite!
All painted... well not the ceiling but that isn't on my list yet.. I want to redo the floors but our landlord won't let us..
I made this! I have this canvas already painted green for a project I gave up on so I took the letters off and used just black craft paint and came up with this!
I hung his superhero masks up too!
So far this is what we have! It is coming along finally!

Dress United T-shirt Review

I was recently given the chance to review a product from a t-shirt company. Dress United allows you to go onto their website and pick between unisex t-shirts, hoodies, woman's girly or long sleeve t-shirts and sweat shirts. These shirts are great for family reunions, bachelorette parties, team sports, or even just because! I was able to go onto their website and make a shirt. Because I am going to a homeschooling convention in May, I wanted something I could wear to help promote my homeschooling blog. I chose a plain black shirt with white lettering.
On the front of the shirt, I put:
because we can!
On the back I posted my homeschooling blog information!
This shirt is made great! I have already worn it a couple of times and washed it and it still looks great! No fading or letters cracking!
On their Dress United website they have tons of lettering to choose from, colors of shirts/sweaters/hoodies, and clipart to use as well. You can also choose the type of t-shirt you want to use: Glidan Ultra Cotton, Hanes or American Apparel.
I absolutely love their site and product. Their site was very easy to use! Their product I would give 5 stars! It turned out just the way it showed it on their website! I am very impressed! I look forward to sharing where I got my shirt too in May at the convention!

Texas wildflowers!

So this past weekend Monster and I made the long drive ( I am exaggerating) to Houston. We went down there to visit my mom, sister and sisters twins! Well, since we were down there we decided to go take bluebonnet pictures. After driving for an hour we finally found a good spot.
My favorite of the three of them!
This is my favorite of Lexi!
Monster and his blue eyes!
Noah. He was more into picking the yellow flowers! love him!
I also did my niece, on my husbands side, pictures in bluebonnets but they were all dark around the eyes since we went at the wrong time of day. We are going to redo them but here are some!
I am hoping to get better shots today if we get to go. I can't wait till I get a new camera too. That would make a huge difference to me also!
